Milan Design Week 2026: a design vision becomes an immersive experience

During Milan Design Week 2026, MelzoDodici developed an experiential project born from an original concept created together with Iammi Studio and later adapted to reflect the values and vision of Electrolux Group.

The initial idea stemmed from the desire to transform our inner courtyard into a true urban oasis: an immersive environment designed to offer a moment of decompression from the chaos of the city, bringing the relationship between wellbeing, nature and everyday life back to the center of the experience.

This design approach naturally aligned with The Swedish Home, a concept developed together with the client and rooted in a vision of living that is more conscious, essential and deeply connected to nature.

Dall’incontro tra queste visioni è nato un percorso immersivo che ha trasformato MelzoDodici in un’esperienza sensoriale coerente e autentica. From the meeting of these visions, an immersive spatial narrative took shape, transforming MelzoDodici into a coherent and sensory experience. The courtyard became a Swedish forest in the heart of Milan, brought to life through the work of our partner Ninive, while the interior spaces hosted activities centered around wellbeing, food and human connection.

Throughout the week, the program included sound meditation sessions, yoga classes, talks and culinary experiences, including a special moment with Ernst Knam, creating a narrative capable of merging design, lifestyle and emotional engagement.

More than a temporary installation, the project represented an exercise in design translation: starting from an independent spatial vision and transforming it into an experience able to engage with a global brand identity through architecture, atmosphere and content.

MelzoDodici transforms M’Over Sport Club House for Milano Cortina 2026

During Milano Cortina 2026, MelzoDodici has transformed the M’Over Sport Club House into a warm and international hospitality space.

What began on February 6 as a curated intervention is now fully active and will remain open throughout the Olympic and Paralympic period, welcoming athletes, professionals and guests from around the world.

Developed in collaboration with M’Over Sport, the project reimagines the Club House as a contemporary alpine lounge, defined by warm materials, a refined atmosphere and a curated selection of iconic Timothy Oulton pieces, presented through Nomad Selection.

The space is shaped by an authentic, material-driven language, where design, sport and hospitality come together.

For MelzoDodici, this project reflects an ongoing approach: activating spaces beyond our Milan hub and turning them into platforms for connection.

IKEA x Gustaf Westman and Elena Salmistraro at MelzoDodici

In September 2025 MelzoDodici hosted a special event by IKEA, dedicated to the launch of the new collection designed by Swedish designer Gustaf Westman. A series of table and home accessories that combines soft lines and bright colors, reinterpreting the theme of conviviality with irony and freshness.

Inside the showroom, designer Elena Salmistraro also presented a large table set up for the occasion, part of the “Tables Around” project, designed as a space for meeting and sharing. Between creative geometries and intense chromatic atmospheres, the installation transformed MelzoDodici into a stage for dialogue between international design and contemporary experimentation.

SENSES: a synesthetic immersion among irreverent icons (Milano Design Week 2025)

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2025 (April 8–13, 2025), we presented SENSES in our Auditorium, a multisensory installation curated together with IAMMI.

SENSES was conceived as an immersive experience, transforming visitors into active participants in an unexpected narrative, where the senses were engaged through a path designed to challenge our perceptual abilities. The project reinterpreted the concept of the wunderkammer through a sequence in which IAMMI’s irreverent furniture pieces came to life.

MelzoDodici at Milano Design Week 2024

From April 15 to April 21, 2024, MelzoDodici was a dynamic venue for Milano Design Week, hosting two remarkable exhibitions that redefined contemporary aesthetics.

In the auditorium, Boon Edition presented Embracing Bold Forms, a curated design showcase by Pieter Maes, Stefano Giacomello, Atelier Pendhapa, and Tom Hancocks. The exhibition embodied a vision of contemporary minimalism, blending refined craftsmanship with luxurious materials such as marble, velvets, and liquid metal finishes. Meanwhile, in the garden, Teorema unveiled Of Water and Matter, an immersive installation curated by materia-studio. The exhibition explored elegance and innovation through an organic approach, celebrating minimalism as a conscious design choice.
